- Large notebook archives no longer freeze the app. A reader imported roughly 70,000 OneNote pages and found nearly everything locked up afterwards; the notebook was re-reading and re-writing its entire page index on every page it created, opened, or searched. The index now lives in memory and is written atomically, the OneNote importer creates pages in batches with one index write per batch, and notebook search reads titles instantly and scans page bodies within a time budget. Importing the same folder twice skips the pages you already have.
- Ikigai reads your notebooks. Alongside approved keystones and the identity timeline, the synthesis now draws on excerpts from your own notebook pages, imported archives included, and every entry's receipts show which note it came from.
- The debug log can no longer run away. One runaway loop wrote 5 GB of identical lines in six hours before the app ran out of memory; the developer log is now capped per second and rotates at 32 MB, job logs are bounded in memory, and a user-installed MCP server that dies mid-request fails that one request instead of the whole app.
- Helios remembers on purpose. A loop guard stops a tool call from repeating itself, memory search merges working memory, archive, and journal without starving any of them and returns citable ids, evidence carries into the next turn, identity export now includes Helios's own keystones, and Helios reviews its own pending keystones nightly while you still approve the ones about you. The corroboration gate that had been scoring every journal claim zero since July opens again.
- Licence requests pin the Polar API version ahead of Polar's October contract change. macOS builds of 1.0.2 will follow; the 1.0.1 macOS downloads below remain current for Mac.

Installing
Windows
- 1 Close Memorandai if it's already running (right-click the tray icon or use File → Quit).
- 2 Double-click the downloaded installer. Windows may show a UAC prompt — the installer is signed with our Azure Trusted Signing certificate, so SmartScreen will be muted.
- 3 The installer runs silently (~2 seconds). Memorandai launches automatically when done.
Upgrading from a prior version keeps all your data. The installer only replaces the app binaries; your profiles, memories, keystones, and settings at C:\memorandai\users\ are untouched.
macOS
- 1 Quit Memorandai if it's already running (⌘Q or right-click the menu-bar icon).
- 2 Open the downloaded
.dmgand drag Memorandai into your Applications folder. - 3 Launch from Applications or Spotlight. The build is notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper clears it without the "unidentified developer" dialog.
Upgrading from a prior version keeps all your data. Replacing the app bundle leaves your profiles, memories, and settings at ~/Memorandai/users/ untouched.
Both Apple Silicon (M1+) and Intel (x64) builds are available above — pick the one that matches your Mac. If you're unsure, click the Apple menu → About This Mac and check the "Chip" or "Processor" line.
